Degrees

In 2003 I graduated from the Department of History, Archaeology and History of Art at the University of Athens with specialization in Archaeology. For the period 2004-2005 I was in the United Kingdom, where I received my MA on Management of Archaeological Sites at the University College London. During the period of my studies I gained fieldwork experience by participating to several archaeological excavations in Greece conducted by the University of Athens (Epidaurus, Plaka district-Athens) and the Ministry of Culture (B’ Ephorate of Piraeus- Antikythira). In the context of my postgraduate studies I had the chance to work at the Archaeological Park of Côa Valley (Portugal), where I participated to the implementation of the Conservation Plan.

CHIRON Project

As a CHIRON fellow, hosted at the Ename Center for Public Archaeology and Heritage Presentation in Belgium for one year, I have been involved in several different activities and projects. In short, I mention the EPOCH project and a preliminary research regarding the phenomenon of vandalism at archaeological sites.
The main project that I am involved in is the creation of a Heritage Interpretation Centre in Heraklion, Greece. The main theme is the presentation of the city’s history with emphasis on its social aspect and multiculturalism. The presentation of the subject will be accomplished through exhibitions with the use of technological media, community and educational programs as well as walking tours through the use of innovative technologies.
